Here at Cavendish Technical Service we can offer a service for you to hire machines for usage. If you would like to use this service please get in contact with the main mechanical workshop.

Terms of Use

Booking a time slot for machine rental (the above form) in the mechanical workshop or student workshop within the Department of Physics you agree to the following terms:

  • You agree to be able to use the machines with no help from any workshop technicians.
  • You are responsible for your own health and safety equipment. 
  • Only book time for set up and run time
  • Sanctioned use of tool holders and work holding equipment.
  • You are responsible to supply own material and tooling.
  • If any equipment is damaged you are responsible to reimburse the cost. This includes the following:
    • Machine damage
    • Tool holder damage
    • Working holding damage
